1983 XV 112 ID help requested

Postby Wiley63 » Sat Nov 19, 2016 4:15 am

Can anyone help me ID this vintage Carvin combo amp? I recently bought it from guitarcenter.com and it is in excellent condition. From my research I think it is an XV 112. 1983. It has dual channels, EQ sliders, black tolex covering, old style Carvin "curved C" logo, switchable RMS 100%/60% switch, 4 Sovtek 5881 power tubes, 2 12AX7 preamp tubes, unpainted metal reverb tank (Hammond), ElectroVoice 12" speaker. See photos.

I could use a link to a manual if it exists also.

I need a footswitch for this amp for the channel switching. I bought an FS22 from Carvin but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone please recommend a footswitch? Thanks.

I'd say you nailed it! Here's a link to the catalog on www.carvinmuseum.com:

That's the '82 catalog but the line didn't change for '83. If it's 100w, it's an XV-112E. Super nice amp! :)

Here's a link to the manual on Carvin's support page. For some reason the manual is scanned in backwards so you have to start at the end (page 24) and go backwards. Also the blank pages seem to have been scanned as well, just skip them- the complete manual is there.
