Carvin X60 Solo Boost question

Postby jgcable » Mon Nov 21, 2016 1:56 pm

I have owned my Carvin X60 for many years now. It has a silver sticker on the back that says X60 Series. No effects loop, curved vintage Carvin logo on the front, Celestion speaker. It runs 2 6L6's and 3 12AX7A's. I believe its around a 1982-84??

Is there any way to tame or turn down the built in solo boost feature (middle button of the FS44 footswitch)?? Its entirely too loud and not useable in a live situation.

Unfortunately the volume boost was designed with a 7dB boost and is not adjustable. Here is a link to the owner's manual for more information. Great old amp!

Very interesting. I find the 7db boost to be just right. I have the same amp.
